Shaun is a fully certified Fabrication Engineer, Spray Painter & Panel Beater. As he is well renowned in the custom motorcycle & car industry he is often asked to judge major shows & events.
Previous to relocating to the United States Shaun & Sheree owned & operated their own business. Phat Choppers was a full fabrication motorcycle workshop that produced many award winning custom bikes that were hand-built by Shaun himself. His wife Sheree managed their retail store which was located in a Shopping Mall at the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. The store specialised in Motorcycle Parts & Accessories, Bikerwear & Phat Chopper Merchandise. Their business proved to be very successful for many years & due to their hectic worklife they were both in need of a change & decided to travel to the USA.
Once in the USA Shaun was commisioned by Kiwi Indian Motorcycles to assist in Building the Kiwi Indian X-wedge Chieftain. The Chieftain gained huge success at the S&S Cycles 50th Anniversary celebrations along with the 2008 AMD World Championships in Sturgis.
Shaun was then employed by Arlen Ness Motorcycles Las Vegas as their Head Fabricator & Tech. During his time there he Built many famous bikes including the ToeCutter as seen on the TLC Channels "World Bike Showdown". Shaun represented Australia against USA, Canda & United Arab emirates. The Toecutter was also entered in the Rat's Hole Shows in both Daytona & Sturgis where it won on each ocassion. Shaun was also invited to participate in the ,elite invite only 2011 & 2012 "Artistry in Iron" competition in Las Vegas where he won both Peoples Choice & Media Choice. From there he went to compete in the international motorcycle show at Long Beach where he once again took out Top Honors.
Next on the list was Sturgis 2013 where Shaun won Ultimate Builder Peoples Choice & Freestyle. The very next day he competed in the World Famous Rat's Hole show where he won Best Of Show & Extreme bobber. Following Sturgis Shaun went to Milwaukee to compete in the AMD World Championship invitational where he also claimed top honors of Best of Show which meant he was chosen as the top builder in the country & will be representing the USA at the World Championships in Germany in 2014.
Shaun is currently in the process of hand building several new motorcycles & cars.

Shaun won FreeStyle and will be heading to the AMD World Championship in Essen, Germany to represent the USA.The radical board track racer is manufactured with heads & manifold that are ported and matched, CBX thermal barrier coating, Panhead front rocker box, Fueling lifters, pushrods and Yost powertube. Chop Deluxe delivers 167 HP.
It’s raked 5 degrees and configured with Deville leading link front end design, progressive-rate coil over nitrogen dirt bike shocks. Hand fabrication throughout including hand fabricated rear downtube, oil filler, backbone, gas tank, and caps.

Australian Shaun Ruddy takes Sturgis Win

Shaun Ruddy of Chop Deluxe Takes 1st Annual Custom Bike Show & Peoples Choice Awards.
Ruddy’s 2012 Retro Racer held point and took the win at the 1st Annual 2013 Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show in Sturgis. The day provided picture-perfect blue skies, warm weather and cooling breezes.
The good vibrations of sweet-stroking Harleys peppered the morning as competitors entered into the Sturgis show. Located at the corner of 4th and Lazalle, the city closed off 4th street to host the event.
Ultimate Builder FreeStyle Winner The top 3 positions were filled by previous Custom Bike Show winners. Shaun Ruddy won Ultimate Builder at the 2012 edition in Long Beach, Kyle Shorey is our 2012-2013 National FreeStyle Champion and Sam Baldi took the gold in Hollister just 4 weeks ago.

Shaun Ruddy Wins Rats Hole & Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show

This year’s Rat’s Hole Custom Bike Show at the Buffalo Chip during the Sturgis Rally was another wild and woolly motorcycle event.
Chop Devillle’s Shaun Ruddy was the man of the hour, walking away with “Best of Show” honors against stiff competition. To win at the Rat’s Hole Custom Bike Show can help launch a literal unknown into the limelight or solidify a legend’s reputation.
Competition is fierce, the bar is raised every year, and the top custom bike builders in the nation and beyond hold the show in high reverence.
The Retro Racer rolls on 26-inch wheels, front and back. The tall and narrow front fork legs are connected to motocross-style shocks. One of the striking features of the bike is a split gas tank with the backbone running in between.
The sled is powered by a 127 cubic-inch Ultima El Bruto V-Twin with a Panhead rocker box on the front cylinder and an Evo on the rear. A two-inch open belt primary, a six-speed tranny and custom pipes fuel the powertrain.
It’s a killer sled and it is heading to the AMD World Championship Affiliate Show in Milwaukee.

Shaun Ruddy of Chop deVille rolled in his 2015 Indian Chieftain. The bike features a custom air intake, a chopped sidecar, stretched bags, custom paint, custom Chop deVille custom pipes and LED lighting.

FREESTYLE
Shaun Ruddy of Coup deVille had a day. He came up on stage three times and took People’s Choice, MOD Custom and FreeStyle. His custom Retro Trike was the first bike at the entrance of the show and literally created a traffic jam during the Progressive International Motorcycle Show. Shaun got a SU carburetor and then built the bike around it. The trike features a 3” belt drive, oil in the frame, 26” white wall tires, nitrogen shocks and a 95” Shovelhead engine.

J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Show Sacramento Results 2015
Shaun Ruddy of Chop deVille took the “People’s Choice Award” for the second week in a row.
Shaun Ruddy rolled down from his win in Portland, OR, with his2015 Indian Chieftain and sidecar and came away with another check in Sacramento. His Indian was a highlight for enthusiasts attending the show.
